Taste Of Chaos Tour (1.5/5)

The Taste of Chaos tour started out in 2005 when Kevin Lyman (the founder of Warped Tour) decided to develop another large show of a harder style of music that would tour during the early months of the year. The popularity of the tour’s first year has become so great that they created a DVD for it about half a year after the tour ended.

The Taste Of Chaos DVD covers the first year of the show on the road. It was solely filmed at the bands’ stop in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The DVD had no coverage of any other show on the tour, except for this one, so it didn’t even cover all of the bands that had played decent portions of the tour (such as the bands that played only west coast dates).

If you are a fan of watching recordings of live performances, then this DVD might be something you will like. Maybe. The live performances of these bands took up the most space on the DVD, and they were of a good quality. The only negative thing about them is that the performances themselves did little to entertain me. The bands’ stage presence was not always felt, and I couldn’t really get into their performances as much as a result of it all.

The extra features on the Taste Of Chaos DVD were just as bad, unfortunately. Most of the bonus things were interviews that were uninteresting, and I found myself fast-forwarding through parts of them in boredom. The photo galleries and van tours that some of the bands did weren’t much better.

If you went out and saw the tour, then you would know that it really wasn’t bad. Unfortunately for fans of it, all that has been given to you to remember it by is something that doesn’t stack up to how good the show really was.
