Lovers Make Liars, “Undone EP” (4/5)

With a Valentine’s Day release and a rapidly growing fan base, Lovers Make Liars’ debut EP was graciously welcomed by eager listeners into the Southern Californian music scene.

My personal favorite, “All I Can Say” opens up the six song strong EP with a catchy and definitive guitar riff which is met by a stream of solid vocals that seemingly continues to hold true through the remainder of the album. As if the well blended melodies with a pop sound sure to make anyone move and shake wasn’t enough, one might find it shocking that every song in its entirety was self produced, mixed, and recorded with a little help from an engineer to oversee and help mix the tracks. Attention must also be called to the cleverly written lyrics that any self observing and mentally aware individual can empathize with. As all of these components work together, the album transitions into a piece with piano and smoothly draws to a close that will satisfy any listener’s tastes. While all six songs complement each other through similarities, each song brings its own special additive to piece together a truly worthwhile first album.

With cover art just as swanky as their tunes, expect to see a big and bright future for Lovers Make Liars in the coming year.
